Game review guidelines

Here’s the new review system:

Graphics: Well, plain and simple really. But unlike the previous system, graphics and performance are not in the same category.

Performance: Here’s the new category. Basically, since I review a lot of many PC Games, performance is a major factor. As such, this category is very very important. Since I run a fairly low-end system, it doesn’t mean that I’ll totally burn the game for having a crappy performance. From my experiences, even if the FPS is at 10+, as long as it’s stable and not terribly laggy, then that’s all good. So yeah, optimization is the key. For console games though, obviously, performance won’t really be a big factor, I may end up not using this category for consoles too.

Sound: Ya know the basics, whether the OST is good or not, the sounds aren’t annoying, as long as it’s pleasant.

Gameplay: The UI, difficulty of the game, the story, all those and probably a few others are part of this category.

Each category gets 25 points each, and if I’m feeling a bit crazy, decimals may be involved. In any case, all will total at 100 obviously.

Anyways, that’s about it. Feel free to leave questions at the comment box if you have a question as to why a certain game’s rating is like that.
